Getting your first Brazilian wax can feel a little nerve-wracking, but at Chaya Beauty Co, we’re here to make the experience as comfortable, quick, and confidence-boosting as possible. Whether you’ve been thinking about it for months or just decided to try it, knowing what to expect helps you feel calm and prepared for your appointment.

Before Your Appointment

For the best results, your hair should be about ¼ inch long — roughly the length of a grain of rice. This ensures the wax can grip the hair properly for a clean, smooth result. Stop shaving for a minimum of 3 weeks before your appointment and if your hair is long DON’T YOU DARE TRIM! If your hair needs to be trimmed, you have nothing to fear, for I shall do it for you if it is truly needed. 


We recommend:

  • Exfoliating the area 24 hours before your appointment to help prevent ingrown hairs.

  • Avoiding lotions or oils the day of your wax.

  • Wearing comfortable, breathable clothing to your appointment.

  • If you're concerned about pain, you can take an over-the-counter pain reliever like ibuprofen 30 minutes prior to your appointment

  • Discontinue the use of any active exfoliating ingredients a minimum of 7 days prior to your wax appointment.

During Your Brazilian Wax

At Chaya Beauty Co., we use a gentle soft wax formula ideal for sensitive skin. Your esthetician will start by prepping your skin with oil to create a barrier in order to protect the skin. Then with our expert technique we will quickly work in sections to ensure a smooth, thorough wax. With our technique we distribute the hair removal through the genital area so you will never feel pain all in one area during the service. Stress balls are available to be used as a resource during your wax, feel free to ask for one!

A Brazilian wax entails removing all hair from the front, bikini line, and bum crack but you can customize it to your comfort level. Some clients prefer to leave a small strip or triangle, while others choose a fully smooth look. Feel free to ask to leave a landing strip if that is your preference. 

The entire service typically takes 15–20 minutes, depending on your hair type and growth. Most first-time clients describe the feeling as a quick sting that fades almost instantly. We offer a numbing cream option as well that you can have applied prior to your appointment. Be sure to ask so you can come in earlier to your appointment for application.

 

Aftercare Tips

After your wax, your skin might feel slightly sensitive — that’s completely normal! We’ll apply a soothing post-wax treatment to calm and hydrate the skin. For the next 24–48 hours, avoid:

  • Hot showers or saunas

  • Tight clothing

  • Working out or excessive sweating

  • Exfoliating or using scented products

  • Sexual intercorse

Once the skin has calmed, gently exfoliate 2–3 times a week and keep the area moisturized with noncomedogenic and unscented products to prevent ingrown hairs and maintain that silky-smooth finish. We suggest grape-seed oil as it is a skin safe oil and is perfect to moisturize the bikini area post wax.
