The Chaya Waxing Method

Why Our Waxing Experience Feels Different

Our approach to waxing is rooted in technique, product quality, and client comfort.

We use premium, low-temperature wax that adheres only to hair — not skin — ensuring a quick, less painful removal. Each appointment includes:

  • A pre-wax consultation to assess your skin and hair type.

  • Clean, sanitized tools and fresh gloves for every service.

  • Application of pre- and post-wax products to soothe and protect.

We don’t just remove hair — we restore confidence, comfort, and care with every visit.

FAQs

I’ve never had a Brazilian wax before what should I expect and how should I prepare?

Expect a warm, professional environment and an esthetician who will walk you through every step. We use a sensitive-skin wax to minimize pain and redness, and we’ll offer tips for aftercare to maintain smoothness.

Allow your hair to grow out for 3-4 weeks post shaving till hair is rice grain (1/4 in) length minimum. DO NOT TRIM, if trimming is necessary I will so it during the service. Gently exfoliate the skin with exfoliating towel or intimate area safe scrub but avoid harsh scrubs and acids. Skip any product usage the day of your wax so that I can properly prep the skin. Avoid caffeine and alcohol 24 hours prior to getting waxed. Wear loose breathable clothing so you can allow the skin to breathe

Can I be waxed on my period ?

Yes, you can be waxed while on your period as long as you are wearing a cup or tampon. You may be a bit more sensitive due to hormonal fluctuations. Feel free to take an over the counter pain reliever to help with these symptoms.

What do I do post wax?

For the first 24–48 hours:

  • Avoid hot showers, sweating, saunas, or tanning

  • Skip tight clothing, lotions, or scented products

  • Don’t touch or exfoliate the waxed area

  • Wear loose, breathable fabrics

Soothe your skin:
Use aloe vera or a gentle post-wax lotion to calm redness or irritation.

After 2–3 days:

  • Begin gentle exfoliation 2–3 times per week to prevent ingrown hairs

  • Keep skin hydrated with a light, fragrance-free moisturizer

Pro tip:
Stay consistent! Waxing every 4–6 weeks gives smoother results and makes each session easier over time.

Is waxing better than shaving?

Yes! Waxing removes hair from the root, resulting in smoother skin and slower regrowth. Over time, hair becomes finer and softer. Shaving, on the other hand, only cuts at the surface, leading to faster regrowth and irritation.

How long should my hair be for waxing?

For best results, your hair should be at least ¼ inch long — about the length of a grain of rice. This allows the wax to grip effectively and ensures a smoother finish.

____________

Waxing may not be suitable for everyone. You should not be waxed if you are currently using or have recently used skin-sensitizing medications such as Accutane (Isotretinoin), Retin-A, Differin, Tretinoin, topical steroids, or active exfoliants like AHA, BHA, glycolic, or salicylic acids. These products can make your skin more delicate and may cause lifting or irritation during the waxing process.

If you have any skin irritations such as sunburn, rashes, eczema, psoriasis, open cuts, bruises, or active breakouts, please wait until your skin has fully healed before scheduling your appointment.

Waxing should also be postponed if you’ve had any chemical peels, microdermabrasion, microneedling, or laser treatments within the last 7–10 days, or if you’ve received Botox or filler injections in or near the area within 48 hours.

Clients who are pregnant, have diabetes, are undergoing chemotherapy or radiation, or have extremely sensitive skinshould consult with their doctor before booking, as your skin may react more sensitively to waxing.

Please also avoid scheduling your wax within 24–48 hours of a spray tan, sauna session, or intense workout, as the skin can be more prone to irritation during this time.

Your comfort, safety, and beautiful results mean everything to us — if you have any questions about whether waxing is right for you, please don’t hesitate to reach out before your appointment.
